In the mid-1800s in eastern Ontario, Canada.  J.P. Wiser, a man of integrity, strong values and an exceptional work ethic was the founder of Wiser’s Family of Whiskies and there began the rich tradition of his Canadian Whisky.

Wiser’s ambition for his distillery was simple – to produce the highest quality whisky “that pleases the nose, tongue, and eye”. With this goal to improve and advance the whisky making method, he aimed to refine the process and set new standards within  the world of Canadian Whisky north of the 49th parallel.

Many whiskies from Canada and United States of that day were glaringly impure and under-aged, but Wiser’s whiskies soon became known for being blended with care and then aged in white oak barrels. Of course, the ingredients were the utmost important items to him and to have the best, J.P. Wiser developed farms to grow the grains he needed for his distillery operations.

In the world of “whisky” (Canadian and Scottish)/ “Whiskey” (U.S. and Irish) today. Canadian Whisky has a very loyal following! In fact in recent years, Wiser’s Canadian Whisky has grown to be one of the most popular and distinctive blends in the whisky family.

Canadian Whisky, such as WISER’S De Luxe whisky uses a unique process of clean heat, which eliminates the smoky flavor found in Scotch Whisky. The vast majority of Canadian Whisky is distilled in column or continuous stills to produce a very neutral, light product that is free of many of the congeners found in Bourbon and Scotch. The young Wiser’s Whisky is then aged for a minimum of three years, in re-charred oak Bourbon barrels before the filtering and blending stages.

A dram of WISER’S De Luxe can be enjoyed neat  (Dram -  A small amount, two-fingers, mostly used to describe a glass of whisky. It is actually a Scottish legal measurement of spirit.), on the rocks or with a splash of water. However, you don’t need to be a professional bartender to enjoy Wiser’s as a mixed drink!

WISER’S De Luxe Manhattan
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1 ½ oz. WISER’S® De Luxe. Add ¾ oz. sweet vermouth and a dash of bitters. Shake and strain over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

WISER’S De Luxe and Cola
Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add 1 ½ oz. WISER’S® De Luxe and top with 4 oz. cola. Garnish with a lime wedge.
