French Cuffs were once considered to be worn for formal events only. Although, over the last 25 years they have resurged in the successful business environment.

Traditional formal or dress attire required that French Cuffs be worn with a tie and jacket. However over the last few years, due to business casual, French Cuffs with classy form of cufflinks, as pictured here are worn without tie and Jacket.

Yes, a monogrammed shirt is not necessary. But it does add a very distinctive elegance to the custom shirt. I personally have monograms on my dress and casual shirts. At NELSON WADE, we offer Diamond Script Letters and Block Style Monograms.

For casual custom shirts, we usually suggest and offer the Diamond Script. We suggest letters and a thread color that is similar to the main shirt pattern color so that it doesn’t stand out too strong.

Is it French or Button…

Our buttons for custom shirts are either Extra Thick Real Mother of Pearl buttons or regular durable plastic shirt buttons are available. Contrasting cross stitch thread color is another option for unique style. We provide additional buttons in the front pleat design for longer shirt bodies, so you never have the problem of too few buttons!

Shirt sleeve cuffs for custom shirts are hand cut and hand turned. The two part placket is finished with buttons and buttonhole or double button hole for French Cuffs. The shirt sleeve french cuffs can be design to your personal taste at no extra charge.

Shirts Tails are always an issue for most taller gentlemen. Our shirt tails either front or back are always custom cut full in length, so that they won’t pop out.

Pockets for our custom shirts are all hand cut and hand matched to the fabric pattern. The Shirt Yoke of the custom shirt is a two piece shirt yoke that is top stitched at the front and back of shirt.

Our Custom Shirt Collars from NELSON WADE are hand cut in height and width. They are individually designed to your personal taste. We also have a variety of basic Collar designs that you can choose from as well.

What makes a custom shirt…

For Spots & Stains on your necktie…
Most silk neckties are not stain resistant, so avoid the STAINS! If you get a stain, address it right away! Dab a little seltzer water for water soluble stains. For oil based stains, use talcum powder as soon as possible. Dry Clean your necktie only as a last resort.

For Travelers…
Remember when packing for a trip to bring your NELSON WADE Necktie travel case. It’s easy to pack and store your custom neckties for travel.
